Bighorn Sheep

The Bighorn Sheep adapts to the Montane Shrublands with independence and predominantly with their “big horns” and their vigorous legs. When in danger of their predators and when fighting with other animals it will mainly use their horns and legs to fight and protect themselves because if the enemy is behind them they will kick the enemy with their hind legs which is powerful enough to injure or even kill the enemy. If the enemy is before them,  the sheep will use their horns to fight them off. Even though the horns are not as sharp, they are still hard and powerful with force to injure the enemy. When it comes to food the  bighorn sheep is a herbivore therefore eating no meats and instead subsist on grasses, sedges and woody plants, such as willow, sage and rabbit brush. The Bighorn Sheep’s thick coat also helps to protect the sheep during the winter. This is how the bighorn sheep adapts to their environment.
